REDUNDANCY IS A TECHNIQUE THAT HAS BEEN WIDELY APPLIED TO IMPROVE THE SYSTEM RELIABILITY AND ITS AVAILABILITY. IN THIS PAPER, A NEW SWITCHING MODEL IS PROPOSED TO INCREASE THE RELIABILITY OF A UNIT (SYSTEM) WITH A COLD STANDBY BACKUP. IT IS ASSUMED THAT THE SWITCH OVER TO THE STANDBY UNIT IS NOT FAILURE-FREE, CONTRARY TO WHAT WE HAVE IN STANDBY REDUNDANCY. THE OPTIMAL TIME TO SWITCH BETWEEN THE KEY UNIT AND ITS COLD STANDBY BACKUP IS _ND SUCH THAT THE MEAN LIFETIME OF THE SYSTEM TO BE MAXIMIZED. چکیده: 

In this paper, a special class of redundancy optimization problem with fuzzy random variables is presented. In this model, fuzzy random lifetimes are considered as basic parameters and the Er-expected of system lifetime is used as a major type of system performance. Then a redundancy optimization problem is formulated as a binary integer programming model. Furthermore, illustrative numerical examples are also given to clarify the methods discussed in this paper.

CONDITION-BASED MAINTENANCE (CBM) MODELLED THROUGH PROPORTIONAL HAZARDS MODEL (PHM) IS A KIND OF MAINTENANCE STRATEGY IN WHICH A SYSTEM IS INSPECTED IN INTERVALS OF TIME AND THE OPTIMAL REPLACEMENT POLICY IS DETERMINED BASED ON AN OPTIMAL THRESHOLD VALUE CALLED CONTROL LIMIT. IN THIS PAPER, A MODEL IS PRESENTED TO DETERMINE A CONTROL LIMIT FOR redundant systems AS WHOLE systems IN WHICH THEIR COMPONENTS WOULD BE REPLACED UNDER THE CONTROL LIMIT POLICY FOR THE WHOLE SYSTEM. IN redundant systems, DURING EACH INSPECTION TIME, A SYSTEM FAILURE IS OCCURRED LESS SINGLE-UNIT systems. THE PROPOSED APPROACH IS DEMONSTRATED THROUGH AN EXAMPLE OF redundant systems.

This study was conducted during summer and winter of 2018- 2019 in the agricultural research field of Shahid Chamran University. Experimental design was split- plot based on RCBD with three replications. The main plot was the type of agricultural system in three levels including conventional (Conv), organic (Org) and sustainable (Sust) (integrated between Conv and Org) and sup- plot was the type of pre- cultivated crop in sequence with wheat including cultivation of mung bean (M- W), corn (C- W), sesame (S- W) and fallow (F- W). Yield quantity (yield and its component) and quality (grain protein), an estimate of photosynthesis matter transfer index of wheat and soil organic carbon (SOC) after one double-cropping were measured. The result showed that the highest (545.04 g/m2) and the lowest (409.28 g/m2) seed yields were obtained in Conv and Org respectively. In contract, with the changing type of system from Conv to Org, grain protein was increased significantly (from 8.3 to 9.6 %). In addition, the highest (535.47 g/m2) yield of wheat was obtained from M- W double cropping. On the other hands the highest remobilization and current photosynthesis matter were obtained in the organic agricultural system with M- W and conventional with M- W double cropping. The situation of SOC showed that the highest (33.18 mg/g) SOC was obtained in the organic agricultural system with C- W double cropping. The reason for improving SOC in the organic and sustainable agricultural system was application of organic matter (compost and vermicompost) and crop residue management. Totally, from the crop ecology point of view, sustainable agricultural method with a sequence of M- W was the most desirable system.

Optimal time interval between inspections of the redundant systems is raised as a substantial issue to plan a preventive maintenance model for maintenance planners. To have an optimal time period for preventive maintenance of systems, especially complex systems such as redundant systems, two variables of maintenance are mostly connived. Against other studies in the literature of preventive maintenance in which repair time is a negligible factor as an assumption, repair time is considered as a noticeable variable incorporated into the model developed in this paper. Another contribution, the number of facilities, is focused as a significant variable used in real applications. Particularly, systems with complex performance needing technical repair facilities (i.e., technical repairmen, tools, materials, outsourced repair, etc.). In this regard, parallel systems have been analyzed stochastically using the way of preventive maintenance in which repair time would be contemplated as an essential factor in maintenance planning. Using Markov chain, a model based on expected total cost per time is made to demonstrate that a proper time interval achieving lowest possible cost is obtained by taking into account repair time and the number of repair facility. Three models are studied as instances of redundant systems to find the optimal time interval between inspections. These models differ in the number of repair facilities (i.e., one, two and three repair facilities). A sensitivity analysis is done to depict the variability of input variables over optimal the expected total cost per time and time interval between inspections. As a main contribution, the repair time could be an essential factor in maintenance planning, this study contemplates this factor in redundant systems.

The importance in promoting, sustaining industries, manufacturing systems and economy through reliability measurement has become an area of interest. The profit of a system may be enhanced using highly reliable structural design of the system or subsystem of higher reliability. On improving the reliability and availability of a system, the production and associated profit will also increase. Reliability, availability and profit are some of the most important factors in any successful industry and manufacturing settings. In this paper, we compare three different repairable redundant systems using an external supporting device for operation based on the profit. Explicit expressions for the busy period of repairmen, steady-state availability and profit function are derived using linear first-order differential equations. Furthermore, we compare the profit for the three systems and find that system I is more profitable than systems II and III.

در بسیاری از صنایع دسترسی پذیری تجهیزات از اهمیت بالایی برخوردار است. در این مقاله، روشی برای بهینه سازی طراحی با توجه به سطوح مختلف دسترسی پذیری و با استفاده از روش مدل سازی مارکوف ارائه شده است. سیستم مورد نظر به صورت یک مدل برنامه ریزی مختلط عدد صحیح غیر خطی برای انتخاب اجزاء سیستم به گونه ای طراحی شده است که مجموع هزینه های سیستم، شامل هزینه خرید قطعات و هزینه کاهش ظرفیت و یا توقف کامل سیستم را کمینه کند. با هدف افزایش نزدیکی مدل به دنیای واقعی، امکان تامین قطعات با قیمت ها، سطوح قابلیت اطمینان و نرخ تعمیر متفاوت درنظرگرفته شده است. همچنین صرفه جویی حاصل از سفارش دسته ای (مشابه بودن) قطعات در هزینه های تامین و تعمیر آن ها لحاظ شده است. مدل به کار رفته برای یک نمونه موردی با 4 قطعه استفاده شده است و با روش شمارش کامل (با استفاده از نرم افزارExcel) حل شده است. نتایج حاصل از حل مدل نشان می دهند که بهینه سازی هزینه باید به نحو مناسبی با بهینه سازی دسترسی پذیری آن همراه باشد، تا هزینه کل سیکل عمر محصول کمینه شود.
